Hall Position Sensor IC of Shenzhen Flying Fairy was authorized by the Automotive-Grade AEC-Q100 Grade 0
On June 16,2023, the 2023 Semiconductor Technology Forum was successfully held by SGS, an internationally-acknowledged testing, inspection and certification institution in Shenzhen. The AEC-Q100 certification for Flying Fairy was issued on the spot.
About AEC-Q100
AEC-Q100 is the first standard of the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC). It is a reliable test standard for the formulation and implementation of the vehicle-mounted applications, automotive parts, and automotive vehicle-mounted electronics. The purpose is to establish the quality management control standards and enhance the stability and standardization of vehicle-mounted electronics. The extremely-high requirements have been made to the quality and reliability of the chips. The range of test includes all kinds of possible conditions or potential fault conditions, to strictly confirm the quality and reliability of all the chips. Compared with the consumptive and industrial chips, the application threshold of automotive-grade chips is very high, which is a significant admission ticket for integrated circuit manufacturers to work in the automotive field.
According to AEC-Q100, the quality and reliability of each chip is strictly confirmed to ensure that the certified chip can withstand the harsh environmental stress with working life for at least 15 years in vehicle-mounted application. The working temperatures (Specification of AECQ10_Rev_H) for products of AEC-Q100 automotive-grade chips are as follows :
Grade | Ambient Operating Temperature Range |
0 | -40℃ to +150℃ |
1 | -40℃ to +125℃ |
2 | -40℃ to +105℃ |
3 | -40℃ to +85℃ |
Grade 0/1 is suitable for application under transmission system or hoods, such as engine control, transmission electronics, steering, braking, and airbags.
About FI6900 Hall Position Sensor IC
The FI6900, certified with AEC-Q100 (Grade 0), which Flying Fairy Intelligent has passed, is a sensor IC based on 3D Hall technology that detects rotational and linear positions in a non-contact manner. With programmable settings, the FI6900 provides analog signal output proportional to the supply voltage and can also offer digital PWM output. This IC sensitively detects the magnetic flux density components (Bx, By, and Bz) in the magnetic field, thereby determining the absolute position of a moving magnet, which can be a rotational angle position ranging from 0 to 360 degrees or linear displacement/stroke. The chip's output transmission characteristics, such as offset, gain, clamping level, linearity, thermal drift, filtering, and range, are all programmable. Users can perform offline calibration of the chip using Flying Fairy Intelligent's programming tool, according to their desired preferences for specific use cases. The FI6901, specifically designed to meet the safety-critical demands of automotive and industrial applications, offers SENT output mode and is widely used in non-contact angle and linear position sensor applications. It demonstrates exceptional stability across the entire temperature range and lifespan. This series of chips is available in two package options: single-chip SOIC-8 and dual-redundant TSSOP-16, catering to different functional safety needs.
The automotive industry is developing towards intelligence and networking. As the core component to achieve the intelligent networking functions, the security and reliability of chips has been unprecedented attention and concern.
The significance of AEC-Q100 certification by Flying Fairy’s perseverance does not only display the excellent chip design, but also represents the approval and respect of the products of Chinese automotive-grade chips in the world. We will make our efforts to enhance our technology and the competitiveness of products, so as to offer more outstanding chip solutions, becoming the top supplier of automotive-grade chips.
